Doctor Mateo - Season 1

Years ago, Mateo Sancristobal left his natal Spain to turn in a doctor in New York. Grumpy and reluctant but with excellent skills as surgeon, Mateo gets richness and prestige, but his successful high-class lifestyle ends when one day he's unable to finish the surgery he was making to a patient after a nervous breakdown caused by a sudden hemophobia (fear to the blood). Running from New York and the ghosts of the past, he travels the town of San Martín del Sella in the Principality of Asturias (north-west to Spain) where he spent his child holidays and where he accepts to turn in the doctor of the town, living with his aunt Juana. While she helps him to understand how is the life in the country Mateo make new friends in Tom the bartender and Alfredo the cop. But the things complicate after Mateo meets Adriana, a beauty woman who works as school teacher with who tries to have a relationship, and with the charming and eccentric neighbors as Carol and Elena (Adriana close's friends), ...
