In the Summer of 1999 my dear friend Rob Halverson and I made a slow moving, hypnotic ambient record called 'Fields of Innards'. No songs, just layer upon layer of simple melodies and rhythms. Rob played, engineered and mixed it. We rarely did 2nd takes and we tracked with both of us playing together. We did not fix “mistakes”. Working with Rob is a dream. A huge success, it sold literally dozens of copies, even more were given away. It also earned rejection letters from several fine independent labels. Hot on the heels of this success, Rob and I made a second 'Fields of Innards' in 2010. It received similar accolades as well as the praise of others claiming to be musicians. 2 decades and several nervous breakdowns later, thanks to Joyful Noise Recordings, Rob and I now proudly present 'Fields of Innards III'. Like the first 2, this record rejects notions of virtuoso and song structure. Instead these pieces offer the listener a cool, damp, gentle, somewhat creepy soundtrack to her/his own thoughts.
