Fight The Good FightWritten by Mik WeirdMik Weird – Lead Vocals, Guitar, PercussionClever Bobb – Guitar, Piano, Backing VocalsCaptain Luxurious – Bass Guitar, Backing VocalsRhino – DrumsRusty Bone - Trombone (Track 6)“Fight The Good Fight” is eleven rounds of protest punk goodness; all swagger, no frills, from Australian band The One Twos. Knocking out old school inspired punk, with slaps of garage and dashes of reggae, the music is served up with gritty guitar, plucky bass, thumping drums and acidic vocals – is anything else really needed? Committed to analogue tape by Luke Yeoward (Press Club, Delta Riggs, Oh Pep!, West Thebarton) at Half Way Records, like a barrage of short, sharp jabs, the volleys from this agitating gang of four leap off the canvas in quick succession! With all bar one song around the two-minute mark, The One Twos have no time for self-indulgence nor waffle; they’re in a classic good versus evil battle and need to land their blows squarely and quickly! From the anti-racist snarl of first single “No Ticker”, to highlighting the challenges to our human rights in follow up release “Gilly Pull The Trigger”, The One Twos stick to the game plan of pitting David against Goliath. Blood and sweat, spit and splatter, the band challenge the singling out of minorities (The Other), climate deniers (Fight Me) and the big end of town (Rip Me Off). They stick it to murderous fanatics (Suicide Bomber) and those against personal freedoms (Why Would I Care What You Do?). They call out the papers pitting schools against each other (Education) and shout down former Prime Ministers and the legacy of their policies (Mr. Mean). The One Twos take time our to slap us on the back and prop us up, challenging us to keep on keeping on no matter how tough things get (Start All Over Again), before closing with the reminiscent salute to growing up as a misfit in a small town (When I Was Seventeen). In music that has “classic punk spirit” (whtybpress.com), while being a “unique take on punk” (mixitallup.com), this is a “garage act who pour every bit of invective into their barbed sonics” (mp3hugger.com). With “great music and themes” (yorkcalling.co.uk) you are beckoned to join these Melbourne based agitators for twenty-six minutes of king hits and haymakers as they “Fight The Good Fight” on their debut album.Album Credits Mik Weird – Lead Vocals, Guitar, Percussion Clever Bobb – Guitar, Keyboard, Piano, Backing Vocals Captain Luxurious – Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals Rhino – Drums Guest: Rusty Bone, trombone on Mr. MeanRecorded at Half Way Records on analogue tape by Luke Yeoward Mixed at Half Way Records by Luke Yeoward with Mik Weird Mastered by Tom Beard at Deluxe Mastering Logo and artwork by Karl MautnerAll songs written by Mik Weird except The Others, written by Mik Weird and arranged by Luke Yeoward
