Bandcamp fan-club exclusive."The soundtrack to a permanent installation at Walkergate Park - Centre for near rehabilitation and neuro psychiatryWalkergate Park is one of the most advanced units of its kind in Europe. It offers comprehensive, highly specialist services for people with neurological conditions, such as head injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and motor neurone disease.Walkergate Park is a specialist centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, which opened in 2007 designed by P+HS Architects. Great importance was placed on ensuring that the design of the Centre is of the highest quality to provide a welcoming and non-institutional experience.To help achieve this, an arts and health project was established to ensure extensive and innovative involvement of artists within the new build.I was commissioned to create a new work within the space. The therapeutic benefits of sound and light in physical and emotional therapy are well documented, and Turning Light explores these in the installation within the hydrotherapy pool. The LED lights produce a field of colour across the space, complimenting the ambient sound, encouraging a healthy balance and harmony in both patients and staff working in the pool area, creating a positive energy in a functional space.The soundtrack which you can hear here has never been released and was made to introduce the work to the public at the time.""Supported by The Arts Council England, Commissions North and the NHS"
