This album is brought together by Pratham Hegde. Pratham Sudhir Hegde is an Indian composer and musician. He is known for instrumental compositions such as the Cinematic Concertos and the Boucher Variations, and for vocal music such as the Sri Devam Nirvanam Dethaha and the yet to be composer Navarahri Arapana. He has been known among musicians and music educators with highly trained students across India and musical professors and specialists in England but has not been known among commoners for a long time since he started his music career. However in the last few months, this has slowly begun to change.Hegde enriches established Indian styles through his mastery of counterpoint, harmonic and motivic organisation, and his adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures from abroad, particularly from Germany, Austria and Northern India. Hegde’s compositions include keerthanas (traditional Indian writing style), both religious and secular. He often adopts Sanskrit shlokas and hymns, not only in his larger vocal works, but for instance also in three part Canget styles. He writes extensively for the Pump Organ and for other keyboard instruments especially the pump organ. He composes concertos, for instance the cinematic Concertos, and suites. Many of his works employ the cannon and Fugue.This album consists of two parts. This is the first part of the album which consists of his first Toccata, his independent Keyboard works and a piano arrangement of a choir piece he has written.
