Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marcelo Frota was influenced by electronic music since he was young. Around the year 2000, he undergoes some transformations, experimenting with minimalistic and abstract themes and rhythms. He releases some of his works with labels like BQ Recordings, Restore Music, Tenor Recordings, Black Lemon, DTL Records, Opium Muzik and Erijo, to name a few. In 2014 he founds B-Side, an underground label based in his hometown and invites various artists to perform vibrant live and DJ sets. Last year he released Black Drink EP on Conceptual Records featuring three steaming deep tech cuts. Today his challenge is to create something totally different, something that suggests a high vibrational pattern. The experimental sounds of Algorhythm incorporate technoid percussion, IDM patterns and glitching, drone backgrounds and ambient themes.
