“And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer.” Revelation 10:6 “One of the schools of Tlön goes so far as to negate time: it reasons that the present is indefinite, that the future has no reality other than as a present memory. Another school declares that all time has already transpired and that our life is only the crepuscular and no doubt falsified and mutilated memory or reflection of an irrecoverable process.” Jorge Luis Borges — “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius” On his second EP, Forlate delves deeper into the many facets of experimental and ambient sides of a music spectrum. This new work explores new sonic possibilities in greater depth, toying with different compositional structures and conceptual ideas. Unlike Forlate’s last year’s solo effort, “There Shall Be Time No Longer” is less personal at its core and is riddled with abstract notions of time, its indeterminate and ghostly nature. These ideas are expressed through the clever use of repetition, prolonged silences and compositional metamorphoses. The tracks feel as if they are suspended in the air, unable to come to any resolution, thus making a striking metaphor for our inability to come to terms with the notion of time, its limits and limitlessness. credits
