Story
This volume is the fourth part of the military documentary series distributed by Dixie Bell, a direct-to-video collection examining each aspect of the armed forces. This film looks at the history of the battleship, from its dominance of the world's navies in the late nineteenth century, to its moderately increasing irrelevance in the face of air power during the Second World War. Throughout the Second World War, the battleships were indeed constantly in action as they laid down preliminary barrages to help soften up enemy-held terrain prior to an attack. The noble battleships have earned unquestionable acknowledgment as the concrete foundation of defense against any eventual war. It is precisely why battleships are still used in great numbers today, and the documentary includes footage of ships that were used in the 1991 Gulf War.
