Story
Susan walks from the hotel lobby and waits for her cab to arrive. When Susan gets into the cab she is focused on getting to the airport. Susan looks at Nathan. He looks back... As they drive she asks Nathan to tell her about what had happened so many years ago. Superimposition. Kowst Afghanistan 2005: Nathan tells the story of a fire fight near Kowst as U.S. Army TROOPS are engaged in a fire fight on a high ridge with the view of a stunning valley below. Nathan and his solders exchange rounds with Al Qadia insurgents. One of the Terrorists is wounded and the other is apparently dead. Rich checks the wounded insurgent and realizes that he has blond hair. The young man's dying words tell us that he is from Canada. Suddenly, another Terrorist takes a clean shot at Rich, he abruptly falls. Billy carries Rich over his shoulder as the American Soldiers run; bombs explode, guns, fire, a haze of gray and blue smoke rises. Rich is failing fast as he is loaded into a waiting Medi-Vac helicopter...
