Story
An evil emperor from a realm called Outworld has the realm of Earth as his next target for invasion. If the emperor known as Shao Kahn were to invade Earth, it will cease to exist for his army leaves nothing but destruction in its wake. Raiden, protector of Earthrealm has begged The Elder Gods, lords of the realms to give Earth a fighting chance. They agree, creating a fair way to let Earth decide its own fate. The Elder Gods create Mortal Kombat, a martial arts tournament where the Earthrealms best fighters would defend their realm against Outworld. The emperor's fighters must win ten straight tournaments to be allowed to invade Earthrealm and over the vast years they have won nine. Now the final tournament is about to begin and lord Raiden must choose Earthrealm's fighters wisely for this is their last chance to save Earthrealm by winning Mortal Kombat.
