Story
The full story of this groundbreaking dance company, from their founding in 1956 to the present. The Joffrey is considered the first truly 'American' ballet company and was the first to perform at the White House and the first company to be featured on the cover of Time Magazine. Narrated by Mandy Patinkin, the film shows how the Joffrey transformed American dance by combining modern dance with classical ballet and by working with cutting edge choreographers like Twyla Tharp, Laura Dean and others.
