Story
After putting his wife in an Alzheimer's nursing home, Mike spends three years trying to become the oldest person to solo-climb Yosemite National Park's famed 3000 foot cliff, El Capitan. He shares the cliff with amateurs, speed climbers, and international climbing professionals. His efforts force him to reevaluate his goals and his outlook on life. Tom hangs at the El Cap bridge taking pictures of climbers on El Cap and keeping an on-line blog: El Cap Report. Mike is welcomed into Yosemite's climbing community. From these sometimes eccentric but always phenomenal athletes, he learns some things about climbing while learning quite a lot about himself.
