Story
The work is a humorous exploration of the societal expectations of woman as aesthetic symbol and performing spectacle who is intrinsically at home in nature. It also plays with the obsession of self-documentation--a 'playing to' the camera that currently takes the form of the selfie and the YouTube do-it-yourself music/dance video. The work was filmed unaccompanied by the artist in the the south-western area of Ontario, Canada, over the course of a year from January to December 2014.
