Story
In the 1800's, just after the Civil War, Luis moves with his family from Mexico to Val Verde, Texas. There he befriends Jody, the local Sheriff's son, and they embark on a number of mischievous jaunts with other friends from school. The group befriends Doc Whitaker, a stranger who recently returned from the war where he served as a doctor. He was accused of killing his wife before the war, and even though Doc was acquitted, the townspeople continue to believe he was guilty of the crime. When a person from town goes missing, Doc Whitaker is accused and put in jail. The boys attempt a daring jailbreak, and in the end the truth about Doc and the missing person comes out.
