Story
Dash returns, just when Freye fears having estranged him forever, for closure, but decides against a definite break-up. Killian duly protests being dumped as non-committal by the girl he started dating because Freya wanted a break and by her for failing to read her inconsistent mind. Meanwhile the brothers' mother Penelope Gardiner has poisoned Freya, and when Dasj cures her, she finds her powers gone, while Penelope feels invigorated. Ingrid is drawn to charming library client Mike, an author researching witchcraft as a believer hoping to validate his archaeologist father's theory about an alien origin. Wendy is furious when she finds Johanna pretended to have destroyed the Asgar portal key but kept it. Wendy can't resist looking into it and is mentally poisoned by the snake-bracelet into waging a magic duel to open it, while rebuking Johanna's abandonment of husband and son Philip.
