Story
Josh rides down a deserted street into the town of Holbrook on a cold windy night. After entering the hotel, he rings for the clerk before going to the stove to warm himself. The clerk from another room says they are full but Josh asks what room George Newcomb is in to which the clerk Ferris replies, "Room nine." Josh goes upstairs to the room and knocks. No one answers but suddenly he is shot and passes out in the floor. When he awakes, he is in the room of Carol Frazer who has Sheriff Willis with her. He asks Josh who shot him but Josh has no idea. Willis tells Josh he won't put up with trouble in town. He tells him to go see the doctor and leave town. Josh makes his way to the doctor who patches him up but he is unable to use his sidearm. He goes to his horse where he gets his derringer. He tries to get a drink at the saloon but the bartender refuses to serve him and he closes the saloon. Carol earlier made him an offer to return to her room so he does where things start to come ...
