Story
Josh is taken at gunpoint to the ranch owned by Clint Davis. There he is told by Dr. Parks that Davis will explain why. Because Davis is blind and dying he wants Josh to find his son who ran away fifteen years earlier because Davis and the son fought with each other. He is willing to pay Josh $2000 for the job. Josh accepting the task asks how he can identify the son. Because the son will have changed so much the only ID Davis can think of is a black brooch surrounded with garnets the son took that belonged to his mother he loved. Josh using the last lead Davis had heads to Summitville where he directed by the Sheriff to Graingerville. He stops at the sheriff's office where Deputy Fix tells Josh he may know the missing son. Fix offers to bring the son to Josh at the hotel. Fix and a friend Marc ride out to a man known as Adam Smith, a prospector. After admitting his identity and showing them the brooch, Fix shoots him.
