Story
Josh rides into town with a sick boy looking for a doctor but everyone tells him to take the boy away. He finds Dr. Langland who examines the boy, Cary Summers. He finds Cary has appendicitis but he refuses to operate without permission. Meanwhile, another boy Ted Bridges, finds Cary's parents to tell them what happened. He had warned Josh not to take Cary to the doctor. Cary's dad Tom shows up at the doctor's office to remove Cary to take him to Mag Blake who is a local faith healer who believes in Indian spells and curses. Tom threatens Josh if Cary dies. Tom's father was operated on for a serious illness but died during the operation so Tom refuses to use or believe in doctors. Josh decides to ride out to see Amanda Summers, the mother, telling her how serious Cary is but Tom runs Josh off. Later, the doctor and Josh are in the saloon having a drink while realizing Cary will soon die. While there Amanda walks in to see the doctor and decides to let him operate but they must contend...
