Story
The wagon train is camped for the night in a lowland area with everyone preparing to go to bed when Bert Jenkins rouses the camp with his calls for Chris Hale. He reports that he has been robbed. A box with all his money has been stolen plus his wife reports that the pieces of material she had for a quilt which included a piece of her wedding dress are gone as well as they were on top of the money box. The snobbish Minerva Ames who believes herself to be better than everyone including her son suddenly recognizes Cassie Vance as a woman she met years ago when Cassie was a young woman in prison for stealing from a woman she was nursing at that time, She had been nursing the ailing Mrs. Jenkins. Cassie denies stealing Jenkin's money but does not deny being in prison which shocks her husband and son.
