Story
French cinema before the war: directors escape from their country and take refuge in France : Robert Siodmak and Victor Tourjanski. French cinema during the war : although it was not exactly a golden age, the directors produced some classics,in spite of the lack of means ;Tavernier highlights works by Albert Valentin, Maurice Tourneur and Sacha Guitry. French cinema after the war : unlike received ideas,some directors showed that the French were not all resistant fighters :collaborators and cowards were already featured in their works.
