Story
Bertrand Tavernier points out that ,unlike contemporary American directors ,French film-makers could choose their own music ,with often impressive results as in Bresson's works.Another sequence is devoted to Edmond T. Greville,whose works are not well known .Saturday- night -at -the movies style is represented by Eddie Constantine who made "Alphaville " with Godard who occupies the fourth part of the documentary ,along with Nouvelle Vague fellows,Chabrol and Varda.Tavernier also pays a tribute to his mentor,Melville.
