Story
Innkeeper Joseph Laibinger rages at Tonio and Julia, no less on behalf of his wife Conny: the parish team must talk his teen his daughter Luise (17) out of entering a Benedictine monastery, instead of taking over the family firm and marrying her steady lover Thorsten Kleinschmidt, who is just back home on a college break. Julia insists on free choice and accompanies the girl to visit the convent, which spells years of intake but she's not daunted. Curate Tonio Niederegger is less supportive, as his own vocation is in doubt given his strong romantic feelings, while the diocese reform forces him to absorb a neighboring parish where his colleague already left the clergy for love. Tonio leans on administratively competent lay assistant Maja Fricke, who considers celibate outdated. Julia concentrates on her lover, Dr. Felix Born, also to her family's taste. The Laibinger family reunion is a confrontation of incompatible loyalties.
