Story
Thomas worked out the 19 months cycle of the 'Space Cowboy', who is getting even crueler with the next abducted couple, and inspires Bisgard contacting the serial killer via his drug dealer Harland Rey, who is pressed into arranging an extra deal in a natural reserve. After her mother's funeral, Catherine deserts the stakeout with Jerry Molbeck, who is therefore grimly attacked, to attempt preventing Howard getting a night alone with pre-teen Matthew Volper, his big brother program charge, believing it's an abuse plan and assuming her brother's absence means he's dead. Thomas's police protector proves useless and an obstacle to protect himself.
