Story
Maxwell and C.C. decide to hire precocious, not-very-talented 12-year-old TV star Jack Walker to star in their stage production of Oliver!, hiring him solely for his marquee value. His TV series, Royal Flush, seems oddly familiar to the Sheffields. Jack is staying with them until his parents can join him in New York, and his bossy, entitled behavior soon riles Fran. She tells him he should act like a normal kid and makes him realize that he has no real friends. He decides to quit show business altogether as it's the cause of his life problems, but that means quitting Maxwell's show. Maxwell furiously tells Fran that she must convince him that show business is his life and that he should do Oliver. When Jack breaks down with some true emotion about wanting to be a regular kid, Maxwell lets him out of his contract. Jack is relieved--just not for the reason Maxwell and Fran think.
