Story
Dobie's latest attempt to win Thalia's greedy heart is to write her a love poem. It has the opposite of Dobie's intended effect as Thalia states that poets make no money. Her goal is for Dobie to become a wealthy doctor, despite Dobie having no aptitude for the sciences as demonstrated by his failing grade in a zoology class exam, he only taking the class to work toward Thalia's goal. After not saying anything to him for the month thus far that he has been in the class, Dobie's lab partner utters three surprising first words to him: "I love you". She is the brainy Zelda Gilroy, who has as little in common with Dobie as Dobie has with Thalia, Dobie who also has no romantic interest in Zelda. But Zelda believes they are meant to be together solely because of propinquity, especially as they go through school together as "Gillis" will always be seated close to "Gilroy".
