Story
Max seizes the opportunity to enjoy an island nature reserve, while Miranda pouts, when they must investigate the disappearance of diabetic Tony Ball, a British birdwatcher, who left behind his insulin supply in his caravanette, making it a medical emergency in a matter of hours. Wife Linda Ball is clueless, having no shared interest, but a folder points to the bird sanctuary. The curator's PA's criminal record and a blue feather in Tony's car suggest both may be involved in an international bird smuggling ring if Ball had also discovered it or was part of the ring. A fire in the port suggests the fisherman owner and a local pet shop owner are deep in it, and possibly the uncooperative reserve rangers. Tony gets desperate in a cage.
