Story
Railroad engineer Tex McKay is in Dodge City looking for a job after his single engine rail line in Texas went bust. He likes to tell tall tales about the high speeds he drove engines at and the lives he saved which always lead to fights with other rail workers. After the latest fight Earp arrests Tex but the local railroad needs an engineer so Mr. Bates pays Tex's fine and puts him on a short line. Upon his return another fight ensues forcing Earp to put Tex and his fireman Woody in jail. Bates asks Earp to let Tex make one more emergency run before jailing him. Earp reluctantly agrees to the deal. Tex notices they have welded a stop on his throttle which he removes. Tex's excessive speed leads to a crash and a story by Tex causing the arrest of Mike Denby for putting a rail on the track. Earp doesn't believe Tex but he must follow orders to arrest Denby. A judge lets Denby off but Tex's friends decide otherwise putting Earp in the middle. In the end Tex reveals a secret to Earp but ...
