Story
John is fed up with Buck not doing his job responsibly. He is late accompanying Victoria and Manolito on a trip to visit their father. When they arrive at the ranch, there are no guards. The trio is taken prisoner learning a group of renegade ex-Conderate soldiers have taken over the ranch with plans to take over the surrounding ranches. Don Sebastian Montoya is not fighting back much to the consternation of Manolito. Furthermore, the leader Jake LLanier was Buck's superior during the war. During a meeting with the Mayor and other landowners, Lanier tells them his plans assuming Don Sebastian will back him up but the Don tells the men to fight back. Buck leans toward throwing in with Lanier but saves Manolito who tries to escape. Lanier and his men take Buck and the Mantoyas as hostages to town to take control but are surprised when the locals ambush them. Lanier holds Victoria hostage in a building with Buck there.
