Story
September and October 1938. In the series' final episode, war appears imminent unless Hitler's demands for Czechoslovakia are met. Arthur receives word from Victoria. Lady Alice speculates that marriage may be in the future for Rosemary and Bill Oldershaw. Bill and Arthur enjoy an evening drinking, and later Bill tells Rosemary about Arthur's intention to marry Angela Scott. Klaus and Victoria return to Larkfield Manor, where Klaus admits that he now supports Victoria's plans. Lady Alice has faith in Neville Chamberlain, and "peace for our time" appears a possibility with the signing of the Munich Agreement. Victoria confides in Rosemary that she has made a devastating discovery. Rosemary encourages Victoria to confront Klaus. Just as Laura has a change of heart about children, Liz informs her about Peter's grave condition. As the Bourne family and servants celebrate peace, Arthur wonders how long it will last.
