Story
Gates informs Arthur of a split branch on the cedar tree, and the decision is made to remove it. Jim receives more criticism from Gates, who discovers that Jim let the saw rust. Lady Alice warns Charles that she spotted a mackerel sky in the morning, which foretells a bad storm. Jim's unable to completely remove the branch after breaking the saw. Nanny advises Lady Alice about moving permanently to Larkfield Manor. The growing storm terrifies Mrs. Gates. As Laura watches from the window, the branch from the cedar begins to fall upon the house.
