Story
Ernest T. Bass returns to Mayberry and again seeks Andy's help with his love life. Lately, he has been courting and, according to Ernest T., he asked the girl to marry him, but she turned him down because he has no education and doesn't know his letters. He wants Andy to help him get an education, in a week, otherwise he will start throwing rocks again and break every window in town. The solution Andy comes up with is for him to go to school, and the mountain man is soon in Helen Crump's 5th Grade class. Andy tries to help him with his homework and realizes Bass knows more than he realizes. But it all goes wrong when Ernest T. decides he's in love with Helen.
