Story
At the small town of Dry Creek, Colorado the Wells Fargo Express Office is held up by two local men who take $10,000 late at night. As they leave the robbery Doc Murchison rides up to the men recognizing the Copeland brothers, Frank and Jed. who own a ranch near Dry Creek. Frank shoots and kills Doc to prevent them from being connected with the robbery. The local blacksmith hears the shot and comes out to find Doc but sees no one else. Jim Hardie who was good friends with Doc is sent to investigate. He finds Dry Creek which is normally very quiet has an aging sheriff, Tom Clements. Upon his arrival in Dry Creek, Jim is met by Billy Burns, a young lad, who is trying to earn money to by a homestead for him and his older sister, Sharon. Their parents were killed and they are squatting on land. Billy who is intent on marrying off his sister asks Jim if he is single. Jim pays Billy to run errands as he starts his investigation. However, the investigation stalls until Billy raises his hopes...
