Story
Tao, now very hospitable to his new friends, shows them his tree fort. He tells them that he is the descendant of the people of Mu, a race of high civilization, whose empire was destroyed by a terrible disaster. The Emperor of Mu had foreseen this and had built seven cities of gold so that one day his descendants could live happily in a new world. The Emperor has also predicted that a young dark-eyed girl would come to the island and lead the descendants of Mu to the lands of the east. When Tao had seen Zia and her companions landing on the island the very day predicted by the Emperor, he had known it was she and so carried her off. Meanwhile, Mendoza, Pedro and Sancho land on the island, looking for the children. Tao leads Zia to a grotto and asks her to decipher a quip: "Solaris, the vessel of the Empire of Mu, slumbers in the side of the mountain.
