Story
In this, the premiere episode, we are introduced to a young girl, Kate Alice Benson, who believes in creatures that go bump in the knight. We then flash forward to the present day, where now Officer Kate Benson of the Chicago Police Department is ridiculed for her insistence at reporting strange and mysterious creatures and incidents to her superiors. When Officer Benson tries to rescue a little girl from a gruesome 'perp' who shrugs off bullet hits, she meets the mysterious Detective Nicholas O'Malley, who really enjoys killing and blowing up creatures with his really big gun. Benson is introduced to and recruited to join Special Unit 2, a top secret section of the Chicago Police Department, whose task is to control, detain, or exterminate mythological creatures known as "Links". On Bensens' probationary assignment with her new partner, O'Malley, she must track down twelve missing persons who have been kidnapped by Gargoyles, and must find the nest and stop the impending gargoyle ...
