Story
Soon after World War II, Catherine Frode along with her husband and daughter have moved back to her childhood home. The house is full of unhappy memories for her and she secretly wishes she hadn't returned. She is adamant that Daisy stay away from the maze in their garden but she disobeys her mother and then returns with a tale of having had a picnic there with a man. Catherine is particularly haunted by the memory of a childhood friend who was killed in an accident in the maze on the same day she was giving birth to Daisy.
