Story
Margaret Millington and her ne'er do well son, Guy prepare for the annual Founders Day in Midland Heights. Local diner owner Lucy Dexter has some secrets of her own that she would like to keep to herself and her deaf son, Eric. Dorothy Wheeler is in an unhappy marriage with her husband Martin and tries to shield this from their daughter Holly. Holly is seeing well off Teddy Welsh who's father, Nathan is a schoolteacher. Teddy wants things to progress with Holly. Unfortunately for Teddy, Holly just looks at him as a friend. Unknown to Holly and Teddy their parents Nathan and Dorothy have an eye for each other. At the Founders Day bash, Margaret and Guy are not happy with Ann slumming it with local bad boy John Grey. Margaret is worried that her granddaughter Ann is just settling.
