Story
McAllister, a former police captain from Diamond's New York days, comes to him for help on a case. They weren't exactly friends in the old days. But Diamond agrees to help because of McAllister's daughter, Marilyn Ann, whom he remembers as a 9-year-old girl. McAllister has been hired by a wealthy woman to find her son's killer. Her son was a nasty man with no friends who cared only about money and had few other interests - "blintzes, bourbon and broads" as his mother told Diamond. Even his mother only wanted to hire a private detective to prove that she's not the killer.
