Story
Hilary Booth (Melinda Mullins), having just lost her husband Jeff to another woman, is particularly receptive to the attentions of guest mentalist Alan Ballinger (Jason Alexander). As they are going over their mind reading act for Hilary's show, "Magic Time," Ballinger gets Hilary to admit that she and Jeff had been secretly divorced, following their first marriage. Too late, Maple LaMarsh (Carolee Carmello) tells Hilary that this is a trick Ballinger uses frequently, and he will reveal the secret on the air as proof of his mind reading prowess. Hilary resolves to get even, and when "Magic Time" goes on the air, she deliberately gives the blindfolded Ballinger the wrong verbal cues, causing him to identify a book in the hands of studio guest Bishop Kenneth Quinn (Malachy McCourt) as some sort of pornography, instead of a rare copy of the "Meditations of St. Thomas Aquinas."
