Story
Scott Sherwood (Kevin O'Rourke) newest scheme is to make WENN an all-news station, at least for one day a week. As the cast gears up for the big news day, Betty Roberts (Amanda Naughton) auditions organists to replace Eugenia Bremer (Mary Stout), who continues to hold down the overnight shift. After several comically unsuitable candidates are dismissed, the last applicant, Maple LaMarsh (Carolee Carmello), turns out to be perfect, as well as being good-looking, which pleases the male members of the cast. When the all-news day arrives, the crew is panicked to discover there is absolutely no news. Betty describes it as the first day in history on which nothing happened. In desperation to put anything on the air, Mr. Eldridge (George Hall) brings in miniature golf scores, Scott Sherwood concocts stories out of whole cloth and Eugenia is dragged from her sleep to join Maple in an attempt to break the world record for the fastest performance of the "Minute Waltz."
