Story
WENN's character actor, Mackie Bloom (Christopher Murney) clearly has a favorite role: the suave, romantic "Vagabond," who answers listeners' questions after dark. The young writer of one of those letters, "Angela from Avalon" (Molly Ringwald) arrives in the WENN studios with her high school principal, Mr. Winthrop (Julian Holloway), in tow, and wants to meet The Vagabond in person. Mackie is embarrassed about his less-than-romantic appearance until he discovers that Angela is blind, and he can be who she believes him to be. Mistaken impressions escalate as it becomes apparent she has a crush on him, and she leaves, hurt, when he states her blindness is the reason she cannot know him better. Mr. Winthrop, who had come to invite Victor Comstock (John Bedford Lloyd) to speak to his students about radio, leaves the studio in disgust with Angela, having totally misunderstood a conversation Victor had with Betty Roberts (Amanda Naughton).
