Story
WENN Manager Victor Comstock (John Bedford Lloyd) is faced with a dilemma: Mr. Acton (Barton Heyman) the sponsor of his western show, "Rance Shiloh," is offering him a lot of money to produce a gumshoe drama with lots of violence, in the time slot currently occupied by the Pittsburgh Library's educational half-hour of classic stories. Comstock wants to avoid antagonizing the chairwoman of the Library Committee, Florence Dunthorpe Mellon, (Irene Worth) because she could endanger the station's broadcasting licence. So he, and the rest of the WENN crew have to find some way to keep the two apart until he can figure out a way to make both happy. To make matters worse, WENN actress Celia Mellon (Dina Spybey) has been pretending to be related to the wealthy Mellon family, when in fact she was merely employed as their maid, so she is trying to avoid Mrs. Mellon as well.
