Story
A girl turns up at Marker's office with a newspaper ad offering a £300 reward for the return of a necklace stolen from a jeweller's premises. She claims to know of its whereabouts and who stole it and asks him to investigate its theft in return for half of the reward money. However the local police inspector gets wind of Marker's involvement and given his previous involvement in stolen jewellery (which resulted in a spell in prison) decides to check the veracity of Marker's involvement.
