Story
(Cloud Jungle Hunters) The Akha tribe of northern Laos, near China and Burma, lives in the jungle around the upper Mekong. Hazen learns tribal skills, such as how they make and set elaborate bird traps, using termites as bait, and gun powder with a chili pepper twist for their ancestral guns, or how the hunt bamboo rats blowing pepper smoke into a burrow. Before he may partake in the prestigious wild boar hunt, he must, like juveniles, prove himself by journeying to the high hunting ground using only a crossbow ('training weapon'). He must live on the land and avoid dangerous wildlife like venomous snakes while walking through jungle and make a raft to navigate the river, gathering food like the grubs of bamboo moths, but makes and joins the nocturnal hunt, which actually yields tasty fowl.
