Story
Hazen uses the skills he learned with the Bajau, fishing sea nomads in the Coral Sea, on a traditional test for young warriors: a solo-voyage to the rich fishing grounds near a desperately remote tiny island. He must paddle his tail off as the wind denies any help, under a scorching South Sea sun. Navigating without satellite devises is ever harder, without proper land marks as his route progresses, yet crucial. He can go on land a few times, foraging and repairing his leaky canoe with a self-made palm concoction. Daneger lurks everywhere, as many sea creatures are poisonous, especially the blue octopus, yet he must dive for food without the Bajau's amazing training.
