Story
Betty Jo has willingly given up baseball because she has a new interest in science. The family learns it's because she has a crush on Roland Barrett, her new science teacher. Despite Betty Jo's "love him forever" attitude about Mr. Barrett, Kate knows it's only a passing phase as Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo and she herself went through the same thing when they were Betty Jo's age. Regardless, Betty Jo has a reason to hang out with Mr. Barrett when Dog starts bringing home large animal bones, which seem like they would be from a creature not from their parts. With the Pixley Museum temporarily closed, Mr. Barrett can only surmise on his own what type of creature they're from, he guessing that it is a brontosaurus, which would be a tremendous find if it is the case. It does look like a brontosaurus the more and more bones Dog brings home, those bones which almost amount to a complete skeleton.
