Story
After Kate and the family receive "professional" advice on the matter, Kate feels that she should send Bobbie Jo to New York City for three months to take singing lessons, which would give her the opportunity truly to become a great professional singer. At great sacrifice, Kate is barely able to raise $300, which she believes is just enough for Bobbie Jo's trip, with Bobbie Jo needing to live frugally while there. As soon as the trip seems all set, Billie Jo announces that her secretarial school has provided an opportunity for a secretarial job at a Hollywood studio, with the prospect of screen test out of it, with she only needing money for transportation. Then Betty Jo announces that she has received a baseball scholarship at a prestigious school in New Hampshire, again she only needing money for transportation. Kate is able to get an extra $100 for her efforts, which is not enough to support all three girls' trips even cutting out all the frills. Two girls could go but the money ...
