Story
When their television set is stolen, the Meldrews decide to go to the local pub. They meet Victor's childhood classmate Billy, who mistakes him for a different classmates and mocks 'that old misery Meldrew.' To keep up the pretense, Victor lets Billy give him a lift 'home.' Having lost his voice from his long walk home in pouring rain, he is mistaken for an obscene caller when he rings to complain about the water, and arrested after being mistaken for a prowler in the garden of the stranger's house to which Billy had driven him.
