Story
Brutus gets the upper hand on Popeye in their rivalry for Olive by catering to her sudden decision to become a beatnik. Brutus has got the beret, the over-sized glasses, the beatnik slang and all the rest of the shtick down pat, making the sailor man look Squaresville by comparison. Brutus's pretentious "Ode to an Onion," and his abstract drawing on a tablecloth, have Olive enchanted for awhile. But the coffee house tables are turned when Popeye eats some cultured spinach, which transforms him into the ultimate in hip.
