Story
Popeye, Olive Oyl and Swee'Pea spend a day at the beach. Olive, especially, is enjoying herself, breathing in the salty air and soaking up the salty sea water. Swee'Pea wants to know why the sea is salty in the first place. Popeye tells him it's a long story - and then immediately proceeds to tell it. It seems that a shipwrecked sailor, very much like Popeye, finds himself on Goon Island. There he finds that the Sea Hag is a cruel slave-driver and the goons on the island are her terrified slaves. Popeye uses his last can of spinach to give himself the strength to toss the evil witch into the unsalty sea. The grateful goons give Popeye a gift: a magic grinder that will grind out anything he asks of it, but only if he asks politely. Popeye, for his part, is always polite. But when the revenge-seeking Sea Hag steals it, she is incapable of anything but rudeness. Her demand for gold dust results in salt - enough salt to salt the entire sea.
