Story
Trampas drops in to visit a childhood friend,Jason Crowder, at River Oaks, Nebraska. Jason's foreman drives Trampas away but in River Oaks Trampas runs into Jason and the foreman. Jason is elated to see his old friend and even more so when Trampas mortally wounds a man trying to shot Jason. Trampas finds that Jason is a successful businessman and engineer who is now married to the beautiful Anne. Jason is working on a project to dam part of the valley to control flooding and open new lands. After their experience in River Oaks, Jason asks Trampas to go to work for him. Jason asks his beautiful wife Anne to give Trampas a tour of their ranch followed by an offer of a job as his foreman saying Hudson wants to move on but Trampas senses things are not as they seem after talking to Anne and Hudson. After talking to the man he shot, he learns Jason lied to him. Jason is a con man. He confronts Jason who has a novel way to stop Trampas.
